Life Lines - Prayer

As we close out our study on prayer, let's notice the relationship between prayer and faith. In Hebrews 11:6, we find the following: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."

We find the above principle applied to prayer in Matthew 21:22: "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

Notice the force of Mark 11:24: Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Such is praying in faith.

Now notice the potential of prayer as found in Matthew 17:20:

…If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; AND NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE UNTO YOU.

In the will of God, the potential is unlimited.

Now, for an example, in the 12th chapter of Acts, we have the account of Peter being imprisoned. In verse 5: "Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him." Now verse 7: "…the angel of the Lord came upon him… And his chains fell off from his hands." Now verse 11: "…Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent His angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod…" Impossible situations are made possible when we pray in faith, believing.

"Men ought always pray, and not faint" (Luke 18:1).
