Forum FAQ

How long are messages kept on the message board?
It depends on the sport. We like to keep the size of the message board small so that it downloads quickly. Usually messages remain on the message boards for at least 1 week.

What are your guidelines for postings messages to the message boards?

 • Please keep your discussions friendly and civil.
 • Messages that are slanderous or that contain obscenties are not permitted.
 • Any form of direct or indirect personal attack or harassment is unacceptable.
 • Advertising is not permitted.
 • Posting of copyrighted material is not permitted. Unless of course you own the copyright.
 • The message boards are for discussions relating to youth sports.
 • Messages discrediting a tournament, product or service are not permitted. The reason being that we have no way of verifying the accuracy of the information.
 • Posting messages using different names attempting to make it look like others are in agreement with you.
 • Posters under the age of 18 are not permitted to post any personal information about themselves, e.g. age, email address, city, address, phone number.
 • Visitors under the age of 14 are not permitted to post messages to any InfoSports message board.
 • Posters assuming the role of "Board Policeman" are not welcome.

While we do not like to remove messages, sometimes a post or thread crosses the line and it will be removed. We appreciate your thoughtfullness in these areas.

Please note: Anyone that abuses the message board will be restricted from posting to the board.

What is the "preserve in knowledge base" check box on the message board input form used for?
Typically messages are deleted after a couple of weeks. In many instances the message contains information which should be preserved. For example if your message is about a drill, quiz, sport skill improvement, or something of general league administration interest you would typically want this information to be made permanent (not get deleted). By checking the box the information contained in your post is saved and indexed in a seperate database thus enabling others to learn from it in the future.

Can I do anything to make my message posts look a little nicer?
The easiest ways to improve the readability of your message is to enter your paragraph text without newline characters. To do this simply keep typing on the same line in the input text box. To create a new paragraph enter newline twice. If you want to really get fancy (and learn a little HTML) you can make portions of your message bold, italicized or bold and italicized.
