Holmes' 26 point effort leads Knights 76-53 win

Alonzo Holmes led four Knights in double figures scoring 26 points as the Knights hammered the Maryland Cardinals 76-53 in the opening game of the Virginia Beach Storm Labor Day Classic. The Knights led by nine points at halftime with Tashawn Griffin hitting 13 points and adding 8 first half assists to lead the way. Holmes, who had 10 points in the first half exploded for 16 more in the second half providing the spark the Knights needed to get on track as they outscored their neighbors to the north by 14 points in a more fast paced 2nd half. Dequan Browne grabbed a game high 13 rebounds to go along with 12 points and Kevin Lewis added 10 points as the Knights pulled away for a convincing win. Scoring:A. Holmes (26), T.
