Knights add new home and visitors uniforms for 2010

The Knights will add a new home and a new visitors set of uniforms for the 2010 season giving them the luxury of having two home sets and two visitors sets. Often during a busy travel schedule in 2009 that only promises to be busier in 2010, the Knights coaches and team mothers scrambled to wash uniforms between games so as to provide fresh uniforms for Knights players every game. By adding an additional set for both home and away, that frantic chore will not be necessary.
The new uniforms will adopt the UCONN style uniform, one black and one gray uniform. The 2009 set of uniforms designed by Coach Bennett combined the "Duke" and "UCONN" styles into one unique look.
The Knights had contemplated changing their name to Hampton Roads Elite for a more regional appeal and to be more representative of their roster makeup. The change could hamper the name recognition the Knights have already established nationally and risk making the Knights somewhat obscure to tournament directors, recruiting services and coaches while making the transition from Norfolk Knights 17U to Hampton Roads Elite. The Knights last wore black uniforms as shown below in this picture of former Knights guard Lorelle Waters, during the 2007-2008 seasons. They may also add an all Royal blue jersey in the style of the black jersey as a visitors option to slowly phase out the two-tone royal and black torso jersey they wore in 2009 and will wear again as a visitors uniform option in 2010.
