Kris Jones (below) hit five three pointers, part of a 6-10 shooting day to help spark a pair of Knights comebacks in an 82-78 win over Madison County during the Big Shots-Charlotte event at Carolina Courts in Indian Trail, NC. Jones and Alonzo Holmes (15 points) helped build a 10 point lead midway through the second half but watched from the bench while getting a breather as that lead quickly diminished. The two combined with Aaron Baker (10 points), Tyrice Thomas (9 points) and Steve Woods (9 points) to help rescue the Knights in the games waning moments as another double digit lead was reduced to just four points with less than three minutes to play. The game was actually in doubt with just under two minutes to play but Jones buried a pair of three pointers from the top of the key followed by an Aaron Baker three pointer from the left corner to put a damper on the Madison County comeback hopes. Madison County continued a late game surge staying within a couple of points until a pair of Kris Jones free throws with 3.8 seconds left put the Knights up by four and put the game out of reach. The Knights got solid performances on both sides of the floor from Tyrice Thomas whose defensive pressure at the front of the press resulted in six steals for him along with 7 rebounds. Also key in the Knights game changing rallies were Steve Woods (14 rebounds) and Alonzo Holmes (5 steals, 6 rebounds). Aaron Baker added 8 rebounds and 5 steals to his 10 point output. Scoring: Jones 20, Holmes 15, Baker 10, Thomas 9, Woods 9, Daniels 8, Elliott 6, Walker 5...
