Big second half outburst sparks Knights 71-49 win

The Knights began play in the Big Shots-Charlotte, NC event with a sluggish, turnover marred first half that found them trailing 34-27 at the half. The second half saw a much more efficient performance and the result was a 44-15 second half scoring advantage enroute to a 71-49 win over Georgia Force AAU. A harrassing defensive effort triggered a number of fast break baskets and Alonzo Holmes (15 points) and Steve Woods (16 points) ignited what had been a struggling offense throughout the games first 16 minutes. Aaron Baker, Brian Daniels and Alonzo Holmes keyed the defensive pressure early in the second half as their intensity sparked a suffocating defensive effort by the Knights who forced over 20 second half Georgia turnovers to pull away in what became a lopsided affair.
