The Knights saw several scoring opportunities go by the wayside struggling through a poor shooting second half both from the field and from the free throw line in a tournament ending 61-54 loss to the FBCG Dynamic Disciples in the semi-finals of the Nike/Baltimore Elite Invitational at Hoop Magic in Chantilly. Some bright spots including solid shooting efforts from Brian Daniels who connected on 4 of his five shooting attempts for a team high 9 points and TaShawn Griffen who added 9 points and 7 assists. Unfortunately the Knights suffered through a horrendous shooting stretch midway through the 2nd half when they saw a two point lead dissapear into a 9 point defecit within a stretch of just over two and a half minutes during which time the Disciples connected on three consecutive 3-pointers and 6 straight shots from the field outscoring the Knights 15-4. The Disciples, a Maryland based Elite AAU program that features many members from Dunbar HS and Princeton Day in Maryland got a game high 23 points from Devin Gallman and 16 more from Marcus Johnson. Gallman, hit 6 three pointers in the game. The 6'5 swingman just came off hot shooting performances earning All Tournament honors in the King James National Invitational and Garner Road Prep Invitational tournaments and led the Disciples to the semi-finals of the DC Metro Showcase earlier this season. The Knights meanwhile look to regroup and prepare for the Big Shots Showcase event at VCU in two weeks. Scoring: Daniels 9, Griffen 9, Lewis 7, Woods 6, Elliott 6, Browne 5, Hassell 5, Holmes 4, Walker 2, Little 1...
