DC Team Takeover landed the early blow jumping to an 11-4 lead before the Knights regrouped, the early cushion was just enough for the Nike sponsored collection of DC/MD/VA All Stars as they held on to defeat the Knights 41-37.
Alonzo Holmes led the Knights scoring with 8 points and Steve Woods added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the opening game of the Nike/Baltimore Elite Invitational in Chantilly, VA. The Knights had two bad spirts, both coming in the opening minutes of each half. After spotting Team Takeover the 11-4 advantage six minutes into the game, the Knights outscored them 10-4 to close the first half finding themselves down 15-14 at halftime.
In the second half, Team Takeover opened on a 12-4 run before the Knights responded. Joe Hassell added 9 rebounds and TaShawn Griffen sliced his way through the Team Takeover defense amassing 8 assists in the game. 6'4 forward Skylar Jones (Mt. Vernon HS) led Team Takeover with 12 points.
