Knights national resume ranks among nations elite

The Knights have a won/lost record of 65-23 during the last three seasons as a member of USSSA, an impressive record regardless of the competition. Consider that during that time they have played against some of the nations top programs like the Richmond Squires, Speice Indy Heat, Illinois Elite and a number of nationally recognized AAU and USSSA programs that are considered elite given their ability to recruit and their national sponsorships. The Knights have been in the USSSA final four each of the last three seasons losing in the semi-finals in 2006 to a Jeff Teague (Wake Forest) led Indy Select team and Tyler Zeller (UNC) led Ohio All Star team. In 2007, the Knights won the national title and followed that up with a national championship game loss to an Illinois Elite team that had four players receiving scholarships from mid-major Division I colleges and two more that had verbal committments to Illinois and Notre Dame. Many east coast players who pay only passive attention to summer basketball are not as familiar with USSSA and might be surprised when looking over the league website to find an impressive list of basketball stars who have played in the midwest's most popular basketball league. The national championship is conveniently scheduled in late July to allow teams to finish up the AAU nationals and make the trip to Fort Wayne, IN to compete in the USSSA nationals as several teams do every year. Over 160 college coaches come piling into the Speice Fieldhouse midweek during nationals and take in all of the action. The Knights have had several coaches see them in action and some Knights' players have received some interest. The exposure during the national championships is tremendous, the opportunity to see and play against some of the stars listed below is priceless. The Knights players have been treated to court side attendance at games that have featured the Greg Oden and Mike Conley led Speice Indy Heat team win a national title in Division I. They have seen the D1 Greyhounds, Blessed IJN Elite, Team Indiana Elite, The Family and a number of teams in Division I while participating in USSSA. The league is popular obviously to basketball teams in the midwest and all of the top teams in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kansas, Missouri and Kentucky make the annual late July stop to the Speice Fieldhouse to participate. Here is a partial list of the many great stars who have played in USSSA during the last few seasons.
