The Norfolk Knights are Norfolk's winningest basketball program and the only local program to have won a national championship featuring players solely from the Hampton Roads area. The Knights spent much of the 2006 season ranked #1 in the nation before a semi-final finish at the national championships dropped them to third nationally by seasons end. The Knights followed that up by winning the national title in 2007! The 2008 Knights (above) have finished the Knights most successful season reaching the Gold Division national championship game and securing a #2 national ranking. The Knights feature some of Hampton Roads' top basketball talent participating in the country's most competitive basketball leagues. From it's beginning in 1995 with only players from Norfolk, the Knights roster now includes members from all five southside cities in Hampton Roads. The club was formed to provide basketball competition and skills development for area youth while fostering leadership and educational advancement opportunities for it's members. 16 former Knights players have gone on to play basketball at the college ranks including 6 at the Division I level.
