Still feeling the effects of a physical game 4 hours earlier, the Knights struggled through much of three quarters but got on track during the final three quarters of what was a double overtime thriller at the Speice Center that went well into the 11:00pm hour. Tim Burns endured muscle cramps that hobbled him throughout the game but rose to the occassion when called upon to send the game into the first extra frame. Burns heroics followed a heady play by Tracy Elliott that gave the Knights possession when hopes of a win seemed dim. Team Ohio rebounded a Knights miss but Elliott knocked the ball off of an Ohio player and out of bounds to give the Knights hope with just 1.8 seconds left. That's when Tim Burns made the biggest play in a game that saw him score a team high 20 points. Kevin Lewis set a backscreen for Burns on an inbounds lob from Tracy Elliott and Burns layed it in to tie the game at the regulation buzzer. In the second overtime, Alonzo Holmes scored six of his 18 points to seal the win and put the Knights at 2-0 in pool play on the events opening day. Scoring: T. Burns, 20, Holmes 18, Daniels 13, Lewis 8, Elliott 6, Coles 5, Gary 3, Cooper 3, M.Burns 2.
