Two-time USSSA Nationals All Tournament Team Selection Tim Burns has his sights set on another national title

Knights tri-captain and forward Tim Burns will make his third appearance in the national championship tournament in July and has his sights set on hoisting another national championship trophy. When Burns first took the court in a Knights uniform in 2005, the Knights were off to a struggling 2-9 start. He quickly helped lead that team in a turnaround that had them finish as state champions with a 29-13 record. That team went on to finish ranked #1 in the nation despite a third place finish at the national championship tournament. In his second season Burns and front court mate Tracy Elliot combined to shoulder much of the scoring and defensive burden as the Knights stumbled early in the season once again but got on track to cap off the turnaround by winning the national title. The 6'3 Burns has bested some nationally ranked big men by using his athleticism and quickness during his previous national championship endeavors and has gotten the attention of some mid-majors for his efforts. He has also gotten his name and picture on the championship wall with the likes of Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Jr., Isiah Thomas, Steve Alford and a host of famous USSSA Alumns while earning back to back all nationals team honors in Indiana. Burns will be back for another shot when the Knights make a third trip to the national championships in July.
