The 11th grade Knights have altered their lineup a couple of times this season and, after winning 8 of their last 11 games by an average margin of 18.2 points, have found a combination that could allow them to successfully defend their national championship in Indiana in late July. When Keith Cooper (a team best 13.3 ppg. average) was re-inserted into the starting line-up, the Knights shooting percentage improved as did their number of assists per game. The versatile guard/forward has set the tone for the offense by moving the ball around and keeping everyone involved while being nearly indefensable during the last 3 tournaments. Another huge boost came from explosive two-guard Alonzo Holmes. Holmes, much like Cooper makes solid decisions with the ball and has been a handfull for defenders averaging just over 11.5 ppg. this season. He has also had a knack for finding the open man and creating better high percentage shots for his teammates. Point guard play has been solid all season with Brian Daniels and Kevin Lewis running the show. The Knights hope the line-up changes and progression to a more aggressive basket attacking offense will find them raising the national championship trophy once again in 2008.
