Go For It!

The remaining sections will teach you how to build and administer your InfoSports tournament website.
First Create Your Website
  • Complete the initial form. This should take at most 5 minutes. Don't be too concerned if the information you enter is incorrect since you will be able to edit it later. When you pick an abbreviation for your website pick something simple (a few letters or small phrase). The simpler the abbreviation is the more likely a person interested in your organization/tournament will remember it (we also offer a .com address capability if needed). When you submit the form the website is created and should be available for updating in a few seconds. Please print the resulting screen since it contains your passwords and other information to get you started. An email is also sent to you when the site is created. It should arrive in your email in-box in a few seconds (sometimes it takes longer though for the email to arrive). The newly created website provides very substantial Internet capabilities for your tournament(s). Tournament features include online registration, bracketing and game scores, team profiles with photo, and numerous other features to help make your tournament a success.
Note: One tournament may support one or many age brackets unlike some tournament website providers that charge per bracket. Also, the tournament area can be re-used. For example if you run tournaments every 4 months then you could reuse the tournament directory (a reset feature is provided) for the next tournament when the current tournament completes.
  • At first you will be very under-whelmed. The website is first created with a very limited set of information. Once created you can start working on your building your home page and getting ready for online registration. Once you complete your online registration form (template provided) the system automatically creates other tournament pages for hotels, rules, field locations, etc.
  • The Admin Control Menu is Where Everything Happens. When you first go to your website you will notice a button on the left side titled "Administer Site". When you click on the Admin button you will be asked for your admin password which when entered correctly results in the display on the Admin Control Menu.
  • The InfoSports Demonstration Website Has Examples. Our demonstation web site has examples of just about everything you will need to do. The way to use the demo site is to first view it then call up the edit for that page or go into "Administer Website" and call up the appropriate form. Before you run the website be sure to select the "Restore Site" to reset the site back to a known start condition. You can then call up the screens, to see how things are done, register for the tournament to see how the automatic emailing works, or make changes. When you leave please press the "Restore Site" button to set it back for the next visitor.
