Tournament Website Overview

Our new tournament website Internet service is intended to automate the recruiting, registration, scheduling, and information dissemination processes for your youth sports tournament. The tournament website also provides services to the teams participating in your tournament affording them the opportunity to review and enhance their team profile, monitor game scores, and to promote their team via their team profile.

Features

  • Online registration. Teams register on line via a customizable tournament application. Upon submission of the online registration form a follow up acknowlegement email is automatically sent to the registrant and to the tournament operator. The follow up email thanks the team registrant for their tournament application and gives them an initial set of information on how to login to the system to complete the registration process.
  • Team Internet Services. Once logged in the system displays a Team Services page listing a menu of Internet services afforded to them. Two of the services afforded them are Registration Completion and the Team Profile.
  • Registration Completion. Once signed in the registrant can print their tournament application (with all the information automatically filled in) for sending to the tournament director along with their check for the tournament fees. Also, for those that refuse to use the Internet the system offers a Blank Application capability which teams can complete and send in to apply. The blank application form requests the same set of information that the online customized application does.
  • Team Profile. The team profile is built from information collected during the initial registration form session. The registrant can edit and add information to the profile and may optionally upload a team picture to the profile. The team profile serves two purposes. One, to allow other teams in the tournament to become familiar with the teams they will be playing, and the other is to provide a method for the teams to promote themselves.
  • Registration States. Once registered the team is placed in a pending state. The tournament director can then go in and view the pending teams list and either accept or reject their application. Normally the director would accept the team once the team's tournament payment has been received. Once accepted the team is listed in the Accepted Teams page and their profile may be displayed for other interested teams to review. The tournament director has full control of when (or whether) the Accepted Teams page is displayed to the public via the website.
  • Concurrent Tournament Support. The system can support as many different tournaments as you like. You can now accept applications to all of your tournaments at the same time without having to go in and do the repetitive work each time a tournament completes and to get set up for the next one. Also, all information for each tournament is stored in its own directory allowing you to either reuse that area for a tournament next year or to keep it online indefinitely.
  • Smart Excel Scheduling Worksheet. Round Robin bracket scheduling is done by a Smart Excel Spreadsheet. The spreadsheet automatically performs the first cut at game scheduling and all that is necessary is for the tournament director to enter the team names on the spreadsheet replacing the preset Team 1, Team 2 ... text. The initial schedule allows for similar rest times between games and tries not to schedule one team for more than one early morning game. Also, the spreadsheet is constructed in such a way that it displays fully in the browser (without horizonal scrolling) and prints completly in the "Portrait" print mode. The spreadsheet presents an attractive visual display and is formatted such that it can be easily added into the tournament program. Thus, saving time in the production of the tournament program. The Excel spreadsheets can be updated live at the tournament site, uploaded to the website, printed and posted to the local "Scoreboard". Automatic calculation of team standings points is also provided by the spreadsheets. The method used for awarding points is fully customizable to suit your tournament requirements.
  • Customizable Website. Our websites can be customized in many ways. Tournament application questions and text displays, colors, fonts, information display sets, photo albums, and champions/runner-up page, to name a few.
  • Automatic "To Be Added" Page Display. All tournaments should post a minimum amount of information about their tournament. e.g. rules; field layouts, locations and directions; schedules and brackets; local hotels; etc. However, until that information is available, the system will automatically link the left column information button to a "To be Added Later" page.
  • Standard Look and Feel to All Pages. As mentioned previously, the system allows you to fully customize your website (colors, fonts, etc.) when a change is made to a color for example all pages automatically change to the new look. Thus your website has a consistent look and feel to in no matter which page is displayed to your website visitors.
  • A Fully Functional and Reliable Tournament Website. InfoSports takes considerable pride in our reliability, rapid page display times and our outstanding up time history. InfoSports has maintained an uptime record of over 99.99% for the past five years. The InfoSports web server is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks per year. Excluding planned server hardware and software maintenance, our Internet server has only had one unplanned down time (for 20 minutes) in the past 5 years. The normal period between planned server maintenance is once every 3 months and and those planned down time periods have not exceeded 20 minutes in length. Also, we believe InfoSports is the longest continuously running youth sports website on the Internet. We started our Internet site in July of 1996.
  • Modest Cost. (no advertising sites) Pricing ranges from $18 for one tournament website to $37 for 5 tournament website (price includes setup, tournament addition(s) to our online tournament database, and the first 4 months of service). Our price is far less than the $1500 to $2500 charged (for a one tournament website with less features) by a leading soccer tournament website provider in Southern California.
