Youth Football Injury Statistics/Opinions

I agree with Coach Dewey that it is vital to have a good coach to nurture kids in there first years of football. I have seen time and time again where a coach matches kids up in practice whose abilities vary greatly. As a coach, I am totally against this type of thing. In fact, in my experience, this is the #1 cause of all youth football injuries. I do everything in my power to match kids of equal abilities up in practice drills, but what do you do not have the luxury of doing this in the game? You still try your hardess not to put these timids kids in over there heads where you feel they are more likely to get injured. This of course is the #1 problem with parents, they do not see there kids ability, they only want to see them in the game. I feel that when playing any type of sports there is always that threat where your child can be injured, but I have never seen where kids in football have more injuries than soccer or baseball.
