DC46 toasts the DW…

"Clark, I read you were no longer publishing your baby….true?"

Yes. It's history now. Those who have it, have it. Those who don't - Don't.

That's not done out of selfishness. I hope everyone knows I share. It's done for two reasons. First, I made a deal with ALL the DC-46 coaches not to share the "D" with anyone in their league in exchange for them not sharing it with anyone in my league. A deal's a deal. They've kept their agreement so I am obligated to keep mine. Unfortunately, many DC-46 coaches have changed their E mail addresses on me w/o notifying me. I can no longer E mail them for their approval of new applicants. Hence, I can't take any more applicants. Second, the DC-46 only contributes to "league mandated defenses". What 9 year old team can run a play against it? The DW, the most highly touted youth offense of today, (in it's usual form - not to include Coach Gregory's) would be "toast" to the DC-46 (As both you and Dirk have testified). Your original passing offense would not fare well against it either - nor the Aldrich SW you ran last year - nor the four wishbone teams I played today. It forces the offense to attempt plays that are simply beyond the abilities of a youth player to perform. For a youth league to avoid having 0-0 football games every Saturday it must make the DC-46 illegal (Just as making the zone defense illegal was once a consideration). I don't want to be a contributor to those types of rules.

Still, I enjoy reading your posts of your success with the DC-46 and my own Defensive Coordinator took ENORMOUS SATISFACTION in coaching consecutive shut outs today against one of the two top rated teams in my league. He was not pleased to see me substituting the "bench" into the defense in the fourth quarter as he wanted to preserve the shutout (And the "bench" did give up a first down - one of two for the day - but the shutouts were all preserved.). So keep your posts coming. I like to think I've done something for the sport.
