2 weeks to go.....what to put a emphasis on?

I'd have to agree with the others that the main factor is to maintain a good additude and appreciate being part of a team. Every position is crucial to success because football is a team sport and the everyone has a job to do. I'm always surprised though how every kid on my team wants to be a rb, qb, or end because lets face it, the offensive and defensive lines are extremely important positions as well. A team could have a great rb and without a good offensive line, he will go nowhere.

While I do agree that some kids change at different ages, in my 20+ years of playing and coaching this great game I'd have to say most instances indicate that if a kid is blazing fast for a 10 year old, he will be blazing fast for a 12 yr old and that goes for other attributes as well. I've seen very few instance where a kid has changed from a brutally strong lineman to a agile speedy back and vice versa although it's not entirely impossible. So I would encourage him to accentuate the positives of his present attributes such as strength and power and be proud to be wherever he gets to play. Good Luck!
