5-3 looks like a 5-5

I scouted a team this weekend that runs a 5-3 with thier corners moved up to the same depth as thier linebackers.
I remember this defense from last year....it's very agressive and hard to do anything against. The three middle backers often times move up into a gap thus confusing blocking assignments at the last second. It looks something like this:

X

The linebackers are about 2 yards off the line as are the corners. The ends are lined up on air outside the tight end and appear to have box contain responsibility. Against a wing one of the middle backers will come up to the line to cover him.
We are running the GAM for the first year but this defense looks great. I would just like to hear anyone's comments on this defense, it's strenghts and weaknesses and how we might be able to attack it. This is for a 9 and 10 year old team. We use the I, power I and split backfield. Also we can pass if the QB is allowed enough time but our tight ends are not strong catchers.
