T-Shirt Slogans

By: Utah

I wrote a reply the other day, I guess it didn't send, my apologies if this is a re-do.

The keys to making money on Tshirts are 3-fold

1) slogans are cute BUT have something local and relevant. People are more likely to spend $$ on something they value as a memento with a local reference.
Local over Lombardi! (tell me where you're from and your team name and I'll give you 3 to 5 right now)

2)Put a year or Date on it! For whatever reason as the season winds down people will want to remember 2002's season; so date them and you'll sell more of them. Then they can be sold at closeout during signups the next year (they will have worn the old ones out or grown out of them by then)

3) Don't pay too much!! The shirts should cost you 1.80-2.00 and doing a 2 color print on BOTH front and back will be less than $2.00 as well.

I do this for a living, that and sponge off my wife :-), so let me know if you need any graphics etc. (free for board members)

Now to answer the question, I have always liked the picture of a donkey with "we work ours off" above and "so we can kick yours" below. We also do a "linemen only" shirt X or Black stripers are the only ones allowed to buy them (prestige) Usually something like "All of the Guts, None of the Glory" with a picture of a big ugly dirty guy on it.
