Question to coaches

just curious, bw....you were obviously good enough to play in college...how big did that "fat little boy:" from No. Va grow up to be? and what position are you playing now?

and id be curious what kind of drills you guys go thru that may be applied to youth ball...and what your practices are like....

and, oh yeah, i recruited one of my former players to help us out this year cuz i had to miss some practices cuz of work, and i didnt want to burden my assistant with 33 kids by himself, poor guy...and this kid had played 5th/6th/7th grade for us, this brother played the next 3yrs for us after that, and he was always around, and he was a good tough player, and a great kid...a junior in hs now, he mostly just plays baseball....he was kinda shy at first, but he came around and did a great job with the kids...its harder for someone that was good to explain how to do things, cuz it was just instict to him, but, he got the hang of it, and had alot of good insticts in calling plays, and which kid should do what....and getting the backs (thats what he was) to hit the hole hard and tackling (he was our best)...we have a 2nd qtr rule ..its the qtr for all the b=teamers to play all at once) and he help my assistant with that team...hes only 16 and did fine...so, to the coach that dont like teens coaching...i say, they have to start somewhere, and they learn as much as they teach, and nothing can be wrong with that.....
