playing time

Their are leagues that use 6 plays and even 8 play minimums per game. Personally, I think the rules are a bad idea. A game that is as physical as football and which injuries are inherent to the game, forcing kids who are not ready mentally, athletically or physically to go into a game is harmful. I see know benefit to a kid getting beat-up during a game, especially if he experiences the same thing during practices. Football needs to be positive! I have seen kids who are just happy to be on a team, or happy to be wearing a football jersey. When these kids are ready to play they will
#1 show it in practice
#2 do it in a game

Every coach has had a player who didn't want to go into a game. The league rule should be there to force the kid in? I'd like to see the league official who drags the kid out onto the field and make the kid play.
The mommys and daddys need to realize that a registration fee and a signature doesn't make Johnny a football player, a black belt, a pianist, a artist, tennis player..etc!
