Coaches...

yes, and no...things happen soooooo fast at the upper levels, you NEED more than one set of eyes, and brains.....and the upper levels are dealing with 50-100 players, depending on the size of your school and/or program....so you NEED all those coaches, just to take attendance....but at our level, its not quite THAT kaotic, even during a game....and, like i said, im sure its a financial thing with the board, so........
even just 2 coaches can argue, ive seen it...the head coach dont hire the asst....hes "assigned" and asst, and hopefully they can work it out......ive been very lucky to be with 2 head coaches that were experienced, and patient, and let me learn, and voice my opinion...and im also fortunate now to have a coach that likes to coach and is very aggressive, but good with the kids...they adopted a new policy last year of letting the asst coaches run the 2nd qtr teams, and actually be on the field with the teams...its worked out pretty well, and it really gives the coach the feeling of running the show, and having some control...he and i are on the same page, but he still adds wrinkles according to the players he has, as he should...and i say amen....i still have the final say, cuz im the one responsible...but its a good situation for the asst coaches, that we didnt have when i was one....
