TOO YOUNG?

By: Coach Sam

Ive been in youth FB coaching for the past 10 years and will continue till I drop. My son started playing when he was 6. He loves it and looks forward to it every year. He is now in High School and is QB on the Varisty. To be on varisty as a 10th grader is something he is proud of (his little girl friends think is cool too). He is not your BIG super star but he has a football mentality and is just a good all around athalete. Something he developed over many years. Remember when children are young they can take in and retain lots of info. Well with him playing for so many years and been on the feild for a better part of 10 years, I think helped him.

The 6/7/ yo's I have been coaching for 4 years are super kids. Some are cut out for FB others are not. Even at this age, I could tell you who is going to stick with it and be in High School ball. Your child needs to play as soon as he says "I want to play"

I may have blinders on but FOOTBALL IS THE SPORT. So Let your kids experience it, enjoy it and play it. Any age is the right age.
