Ideas on getting all 35 players involved.
By: Carl Horoho
Coach, I admire your efforts, but the real problem is you have too many players. It is unrealistic to expect any coach to provide quality playing time for that many kids. I believe your solution proves my point. You basically turned your one team into 2 1/2 teams. We limit team strength to 22 players, but actual numbers are usually less than 20 per team. I wrote the rule intentionally to ensure each player receives adequate live-game action. I do not know the size of your league. We are very small with only 3 teams. But, if we ever have the luxury of 67 players registering, I will not hesitate to form a fourth team! I believe your league leadership should consider the same tyupe of rule. We should "play-em" as much as possible so they will return next year! Again, I congratulate you for making a monumental effort in an unreasonable situation.
