2008 girls house league playoff schedule is here.

2007-2008 house league schedules are here.

Most clubs focus only on competitive volleyball.  But Durham Attack's ultimate goal is to instill a love of the sport in as many of our youth as possible, and through that, build and sustain a highly competitive and successful club.

To this end a House League program was started in 2001.  The league is a key component of the "grass roots" program that has developed an extremely high calibre of volleyball at Durham Attack.

Award-Winning Program

At their annual awards Gala in 2005 Volleyball Canada awarded a special award to Durham Attack for their ground-breaking work in building a strong and thriving volleyball House League.

"The Durham Attack Volleyball Club is known for its strong competitive volleyball programs. They have expanded their program to include youth house leagues.  We honour their innovation, leadership and implementation of this highly successful program that is allowing Ontario’s youth to discover the joys of our sport at an earlier age."  more info...

No Experience Required

Boys and girls between the ages of 9-15 are taught the skills of volleyball and exposed to game situations.  The coaching staff includes coaches from Durham Attack along with Durham Attack players, many of whom have played on Provincial and National championship teams.

Balanced teams with a variety of skills and age levels are assembled for House League play.  Players learn individual skills and perhaps more importantly the importance of playing as a team during the ten-week program.

The  program has grown to include over 250 girls and 80 boys for the past 2005-2006 season.  This season's House League looks to be even bigger and better.

"Dad - do you remember that computer game you were going to get me for my report card?  Could you get me a volleyball instead?"  - 9 year old boys house league player

"My daughter joined the House League program in grade 4. Her interest in the sport grew and her skills improved dramatically. From there she joined the U12 competitive team and her skills improved further still. She has made wonderful friends at Durham Attack and hopes to continue playing volleyball for many years to come.

What she likes best is "the way the the coaches cheer me on." It is great the way that they are taught new skills and then put them to the test by playing games against other teams every Sunday.

She has had a very positive experience with this whole organization. She is now looking forward to summer camp and asking how many more days..."

"Durham Attack House League is a fantastic introduction to the sport of volleyball.  The superior organization behind the league is a testament to the level of commitment the volunteers have to the game and to the development of young players.

My daughter has developed a strong love for the game, which fundamentally came from House League play, and she has moved on to play in the competitive ranks."

Many of our House League players move on to play on our competitive teams.  And some competitive players still play House League, for the fun and extra playing time.

House League also gives players from our competitive teams an opportunity to give back to the Club and to the community that has supported them.  Expert instructions is provided by coaches and by our senior players who are among the best in the province.
