Our volunteer
coaches contribute more than 16,000 hours to the community each season.
Our goal is to bring volleyball to the youth of Durham while teaching them
integrity, dedication and commitment, as well as skills necessary for
success both on the court and in life. The mandate "developing
character through the pursuit of excellence" is at the core of all that we
do as a club, from players to coaches to parents. As a volleyball
community, the success of each member is shared by all as together we are
able to achieve more.

Recreational
Attack runs the most comprehensive
recreational program in the province, with more than 800 players in
2006-2007. Our competitive athletes are the foundation of the
program as they invest more than 1,000 hours each season to transfer their
skills, knowledge and passion for the game to developing players. |
 |
|
|
The recreational program includes
both the youth house leagues and summer camps. We continue to provide
the OVA
SPIKES program for players age 6-12. The Volleyball Canada
award-winning
House
League program is
unique to the club, and combines skill development with game situations.
Consistent with the Canadian athlete development model
LTAD, the
Summer
Camp program follows the same format, emphasizing fun and
development over competition. Players are taught individual skills
and given opportunities to apply them in game situations.
The final day of camp takes place at
the beach, where players are given an opportunity to learn about beach
volleyball and the differences and similarities between the beach and
indoor game. We expanded our camps in 2007 with a fourth week in
Peterborough and in 2008 hope to offer our camps to other communities as
well.
