All News & Events - 2005 2007 News Archive 2006 News Archive   2005 Alumni Lindsey Johnson #1 in Canada for Digs December 31, 2005 Libero Lindsey Johnson has earned OUAA and CIS honours for the first half of the season for total digs and digs per game.  Excluding players with just a handful of games Lindsey is #1 in Ontario and #1 in Canada for digs per game, and a close fifth in Canada for total digs with quite a few games in hand.   In the last match-up of 2005 she posted an amazing 43 digs against the OUAA #1 Western Mustangs.   ouaa stats...  cis stats... alumni... Seven Teams.  Seven Medals!!! December 3, 2005 What an unbelievable weekend for Durham Attack!  On the seventh weekend of the season, seven teams set out to various points of the compass to do battle against competing clubs.  And all seven teams brought home medals! 15U #1 and #2!  For the boys.... in their first tournament of the season in Kingston our 15U boys beat all comers and faced each other in the Provincial Cup final.  It was neck-and-neck, but in the end 15U Red let 15U Black off the hook; 15U Black won the Gold and 15U Red the Silver.  16U Medal Fest!  All four Girls 16U and 15U teams played in the 16U MacGregor Cup and all four teams brought home medals - two Gold and two Bronze.  16U Black won Tier 1 making them #1 in Ontario. more... 16U Red won the Gold in Whitby to move up to Tier 2. more... 15U Black won a Bronze in Tier 2 to move up to Tier 1.  And 15U Red Hawks took the Bronze in Ottawa. more... 18U Rules 20U.  Finally, our 18U Girls won Gold at the 20U MacGregor Cup, for their third medal of the season. Does your team have sponsors you would like to acknowledge?  Send us the details. 16U Penguins Win Provincial Cup November 19, 2005 16U Penguins went 10-0 in their first tournament of the season at the Provincial Cup in Kingston.  The Penguins beat Ottawa Kangaroos 25-23, 25-21 in the final, to bring home the Gold.  More info as it becomes available. 14U Black Wins Provincial Cup November 19, 2005 Girls 14U Black won the Gold medal at the Provincial Cup in Ajax on the weekend.   That makes it a near sweep for Durham Attack girls with Gold in 14U, 15U and 18U, and Silver in 16U. more... 14U Red finished in 5th place and 13U Black finished in 9th in Ajax.  13U Red finished 5th at the Zone G competition in Ottawa.  All Red teams have placed 5th in their first tournament. OVA Plans to Move Youth Beach Competitions to Sunday in 2006 November 16, 2005 In a communication to adult players a few weeks back, the OVA indicated that since the adults want to play on Saturdays they will be moving youth tournaments to Sundays in 2006.  Does this sound backwards?!!!  Will this impact your family and your ability to play next summer?  Let the OVA know your opinion.  Call Chiara Salvatore at 1-800-563-5938, or email her at csalvatore@ontariovolleyball.org.  15U Black Wins Provincial Cup November 12, 2005 Girls 15U Black won the Gold medal at the Provincial Cup in Madoc on the weekend. more...  15U Red finished in 5th place. more...  Alumni Kim Todd repeats as BIG EAST Player of the Week November 10, 2005 Sophomore outside hitter/middle blocker Kim Todd earned her second consecutive BIG EAST Player of the Week honor.  She posted an astounding 35 kills, setting a school record for individual kills in a match, while hitting .520 in Marquette’s 3-2 decision over Seton Hall.  more.... Calling All House League Coaches November 2, 2005 Winter house league is looking for volunteer coaches.  If you are a player or parent in the club who wishes to help out please email Chris Williamson.  Players can earn community service hours (15 hrs).  Players or parents can earn a fundraising credit for the time that they put into the league. Attack Earns Silver and Bronze October 29, 2005 Our girls brought home Silver and Bronze medals from their second tournament of the season, with 16U Black winning the Silver and 15U Black the Bronze.  16U Red also had a strong showing with a fifth place finish. Alumni Kim Todd is BIG EAST Player of the Week October 31, 2005 Kim Todd of Marquette Golden Eagles was named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the week of October 31,  with arguably her best performance in back-to-back games. Kim registered 22 kills, 13 digs and nine blocks, just shy of her first career triple double in the win over Wildcats on Oct. 28. She followed that with her sixth double double of the season nailing 17 kills and 14 digs in the sweep of the Scarlet Knights on Oct. 30. Attack's First 2005 Tournament is Golden October 23, 2005 Our 18U girls kicked off the 2005 season in Durham Attack style, bringing home the Gold medal from their season opener in Ajax.  Way to go girls!   more.... 18U Casino Rama Trip October 23, 2005 The 18U team is organizing a fundraising trip to Casino Rama on Nov 19th.  Bus departs Leo J.
