After some great victories from the preliminaries the day before, the 15U Red
team was looking strong and was determined to win some more difficult matches
against the teams in their power pools.
The first match of the day was against Halton Hurricanes (Black). 15U red
started off great and won the first match at 25-20. However, our team fell
behind and lost focus in the second match with the result of the score at 13-25.
This only led them to push harder and so they won the third set with the score
of 15-8.
The second match of the day was against Oakville Thunder – a team Red had
trouble with the week before. The first set had a close score of 26-24
with Attack Red taking the win. Unfortunately, Oakville defeated Red in
the second set of 23-25. Attack Red was determined to crush Oakville in
the third set, but they came up short and lost with the score of 15-8.
The very last game of the power pool play was against our very own – Durham
Attack Black 15U. The girls started off the first set winning a few points
but then lost focus. Red came back up, but still lost at 12-25. They
stayed focus the next game and played much better but unfortunately they were
defeated with the score of 21-25.
After our very last game, the Awards of Excellence presentation took place.
Catherine Coveney represented 15U Red well by taking the award given to her.
Good work Catherine, you deserved it!
Even though Red couldn’t manage to gain the points, the girls played some
excellent volleyball with some great plays. Thank you to our wonderful
coaches Paul, Linda, and Chelsea for the support that we needed throughout the
day.
GO ATTACK!
