The
17U win back to back Gold medals after another successful weekend away.
The 17U traveled to Kingston for the 18U Girls Open Championship – East
this past weekend.
This day would prove to be a more relaxing pace with little stress. The
girls easily finished 1st in their pool play. Although we still
encountered lengthy wait times between matches, Curtis once again broke
out “Name that Tune”. This time the game was just amongst the girls but
it was soon evident the whole auditorium was eager to participate. |

Our cross over game was against Riverdale Royals. The first match went to Attack
25/14. At this point Curtis decided to rest our one and only setter “Sarah”.
This set up a very entertaining second match. It was back to basic simple
rotation with position 3 setting. The girls had fun with this strategy and quite
enjoyed their turn setting. Final score Attack 25/16.

The next break would see the girls test their eye, hand coordination with a coin
toss. Alanna proved to be quite skilled at this and was able to catch 19 coins
at once. However Dani, never to be under estimated with her competitive edge,
was very close if not the same!

Our semi final match had us facing DRVC 17U. Attack dominated, winning both sets
25/9 and 25/14.
With an empty court available, both teams available, we (Cris) were able to
persuade the convenor to move our game ahead (yeah)! Our final Gold medal game
was against the Barrie Elites. Attack came out strong and once again dominated
winning 25/18 and 25/19. We finished the day 10-0.
