We played in a 16U tier 2 tournament this weekend and faced some pretty tough
teams. Our first pool match was against The Barrie Elites 16U: in the
first set we came out on top with a 25 - 17 victory. Unfortunately we were
just shy on our second game, losing 24 - 26. The third set was also a nail
biter but we couldn’t quite pull through for the victory.
In our second
pool match we faced the Pegasus 16U girls and put up an excellent fight, winning
the game 25 - 21. Unfortunately the second game was not in our favor,
losing 17 - 25, but we came back swinging hard in the third to fall just short
with a final score of 14 - 16.
Although our
results were not what we would have liked in our pool, we played exceptionally
well which proves that we can play with the high caliber teams. Our
defense was amazing throughout the tournament which helped us turn around many
games.
We played the Etobicoke Titans in our first cross-over match and unfortunately
we did not play to the best of our ability, losing both games. In
our final game of the day we were up against the Aurora Storm 16U and we took
them in two sets winning the first 25 to 8 and the second 25 to 23.
Over all we had an excellent weekend. This tournament allowed us to
continue to improve on our plays and to demonstrate both our amazing offence and
defense skills! Good Luck at the 15U tournament next weekend!
