On November 29th, the
14U Girls' Black Team set out among others to compete in the 15U Provincial Cup
at Eastdale SS in Welland.
We started off the day on
a high note, coming very close against Titans Nemesis 15U (ranked 4th). We
played strong and hard, and gave the Titans a run for their money, but lost.
After a long 2-match break, we came back a little cold and were defeated by DRVC
15U (ranked 3rd). Our team played their best, and had a lot of heart, but
being up against a good team after a long break, didn't help. Immediately
after our 2nd match, D.A. went into their final pool against Rapids Blue (ranked
9th). We came out guns-a-blazing, and won our first game ever as a new team.
Next, we went into re-pool
and found ourselves up against two more strong teams. First up was Titans
Inc. (ranked 12th), who turned out to be better than expected. Attack won
the first game in over-time, but were unable to do the same the second game.
We took the Titans into the 3rd game and lost again, but for sure gave the other
team a scare.
By the end of these games,
everyone was tired, but still tried their best as they were brought up against
BVC (ranked 11th). BVC won both games, but our team kept it very close.
After a long day of great volleyball, I believe that Durham Attack 14U Girls'
Black Team played strongly as a team and will come back even stronger this
weekend at the 14U Provincial Cup in Newmarket.
