The U17 Red team came into the U18 Provincials short a few team members and off a disappointing showing at the U17 Tier II Provincials in Kingston, but full of determination to finish the season strong.  And they did just that by taking the Silver in the Tier Three 18U Provincial Championships in Waterloo this past weekend.

Ranked 50th out of 55 teams, they handily took first in their pool after play on Friday and continued with exceptional play all day Saturday, until their first defeat of the tournament late Saturday against Peel Select in a tough three game match.

Undeterred, they came back Sunday morning with incredible energy and enthusiasm only to face Peel once again for the Gold Medal match.  After three back-to-back games, they gave it their all but fell just short.  To this determined group of girls, bringing home the Silver medal was a thrill but their reward was just having the opportunity to elevate their game to a level they have trained so hard for all season, at a venue of this nature.

Congratulations girls and coaches for a hard-fought tournament & season!
