After an action packed day 13U Black went home disappointed finishing in a four
way tie for 5th place on February 23rd in Burlington.
We finished second
in our pool, losing our third match to the Storm in an exciting tiebreaker that
we just came up short in. Our first two matches were against South County Teal
and Forest City Blue, and although some of the games were close, we won each
match in straight sets. Our playoff game was against Barrie Elite who we have
played and beaten before. The games were exciting and close but we came up short
in both games losing with 22 & 20 points.
Although this
certainly was not the outcome we had hoped for, we took many positives away from
the event. For the first time this year, we came back from large early game
deficits. The girls did not get discouraged, remained calm and worked their way
back into the games eventually winning them. This was a real character builder
for the team and they rose to the occasion each time. After a warm up 14U
tournament March 1st, the Provincials are next on the radar and with this
weekends experience the team will be ready for all challenges. |
