16U Red Hawks Play Well in Trenton

16U Red played some great ball at the 17U tournament in Trenton on January 19th.

In pool play, we handed the Astros (who were the eventual pool winner) their only defeat, starting the day with wins against 16 & 20 points. Our second match against the Ottawa Mavericks was not quite as successful as we fell in straight games scoring 19 & 13 points. We played a great third match against SFVC losing a nail biter, that went to a third game after the first two games were decided by only two points.

Our day ended in a great match against the 16U Capitals from Ottawa in the cross over game. We could have won both these games with the second one going to 26 points.

This tournament proved that we can hold our own against anyone. We won against a 17U team and took a 16U Tier One team right to the limit, and could have easily beat them if it weren’t for a few tough bounces. Things are coming together as we prepare for our first Tier Two tournament in two weeks. The team is ready and the parents are eagerly waiting to cheer everyone on.
