13U McGregor Cup

It was with great excitement that the Durham Attack White Team participated in their 2nd tournament.

Scarborough Titans Ice was our first challenge. The girls rotated on and off the court playing 3 games. We cheered loud to encourage our teammates but in the end Titan’s won 25-7, 25-12, 25-15.

Our next set of 3 games was with Storm Blast. The ball was in the air for many hard fought rallies. Julia, Dana and Autumn each earned 5 points with their awesome serves. From the sidelines, you could hear Autumn growl as she tried to psyche out her opponents. Both Hallie and Merita won a couple of one-on-one challenges at the net. The end results were 25-22, 25-16, 25-20 in Storm Blast's favour.

After a long break and a delicious lunch we were anxious to start the repool. We played Storm Twister. Naressa started us off with another straight 5 serves. The first game was very close and often a neck-and-neck tie…11-11, 13-13. The points went back and forth. In the end they won 25-20, and again 25-9.

Our last game was with Storm Blast again. The girls worked hard at returning serves, setting players and spiking. They were incredible. It was very exciting to watch them come together. Well done ladies. Storm Blast took both games 25-22, 25-20.

Christmas Celebration

The team took some time out from practice and had a party! We met at Boston Pizza to celebrate the holidays and partake in a Secret Santa Exchange. The girls shared gifts and stories. New friendships were forged as we laughed and giggled through the dinner hour. Coach Steve presented each girl with a small gift especially chosen for them. What a hoot!!

We look forward to seeing Carlena wearing her flashing red light on the court at our next game. Dana promises to bring her pillow for moral support and Lizzie, you can bring your mirror so that Merita can put her hair brets in properly.
