The 15U Black team are clearly defining themselves as a dominant team. This group of young ladies has shown that last year's National Championship was no fluke. Each player has shown tremendous growth from last year and with a couple new additions, they certainly look poised to win plenty of gold this year.

Last weekend, the girls traveled to Welland to participate in the 15U tier one event. The ladies cruised through pool play and after a 5 and a half hour wait, easily won their quarter final match.  This would place them in a semi against the #1 ranked team from DRVC. The girls took early control of the match and won the first set 25-17.  With tremendous passing, blocking and a high octane offence, the girls won the match in two straight, ensuring themselves of a medal.  Although, this year, anything short of gold seems to be unsatisfying for this group of talented players.  The final match followed the trend of the day with the girls dominating the Scarborough Falcons 25-23 and 25-14.  With this result, the girls are finally the number one ranked team in the province.

Yesterday, the girls were in the lovely town of Trenton to compete in the 16U Zone tournament.  The girls dominated the competition all day and were really only challenged in one set of the semi final, while facing the 16U Red Hawks.  The Red Hawks are to be commended for putting on a defensive clinic, digging several attacks that would normally have the opposition ducking for cover.  In the final the girls faced the Ottawa Mavericks Ambush.  The girls were anxious to show this up and coming 15U team what the best in Ontario have to offer.  Attack Black put on a serving show in game one, which had many of the spectators from other courts coming to watch.  The team gladly received several free balls and transitioned them into well executed plays.  At day's end the girls were presented with more golden necklaces and will move on to face some tougher competition in Tier 2.

In two weekends of meaningful matches, this team has not dropped a set!  They certainly are an entertaining team to watch.
