All the girls contributed to the success of the day. Our
passers "passed" well, setters "set" terrific balls which our many
middle, power and off-side hitters slammed onto the floor. The
toughest competition of the day was at the end, when we first
played the Titans (the team that knocked the 13U Black out of the
medals at last year's provincials) a "big" team. Our
blocking, passing, serving and hitting were too much for them and
we came out on top.
For
the final game of the day we were up against our own 14U Red.
They played well and gave us a good scare. Our girls dug
deep, pulled it all together and after some great rallies were
able to take both games.
Many thanks to the parent fans who showed their undying support. I
still think you'd all look pretty terrific in the Durham Attack
Fanwear (hint, hint).
Last but not least, a big thank you to Dave and Courtney for
running the digging and hitting warm-ups and for moral support on
the bench. What a team....maybe as HOT as last year's.
