Fanwear FAQ
frequently asked questions about fanwear and warm-up shirts

If you have any other questions email them to fanwear@durhamattack.org and we will add to this list.

General Questions

1.  FAX or Mail?

KI has had a problem with their FAX service in the past, where an order or two were not received.  We ask that you now mail the order form, as indicated on the new forms, and that you pay by cheque.

2.  What do the items look like?

We have a photo gallery of mock-ups of the different designs on T-shirts and will add photos of items as they become available.  The photo gallery is here.

3.  Can I use our Durham Attack designs on other items?

The Fanwear program is an investment of time and money by the Club in creative fees, silkscreen and embroidery setup fees, and administration.  The only permitted use of the designs on clothing is through the Fanwear program, including warm-up shirts.

Teams that want to use a design on a team banner or other items can request release of a design for a one-time use.

Warm-up Shirt Questions

1.  How do I order our warm-up shirts?

Parent Reps have been asked to coordinate the order for each team.  The order form lists the available styles of shirts.  Fill in the form and mail the form and a cheque according to the instructions on the form.    Please pay attention to deadlines.

2.  What are the deadlines?

The initial 2008 warm-up shirt orders are due by Weds Nov 21st by FAX or mail.  If ordered by this date shirts will be ready by Thursday Nov 29th.  After that date allow three weeks from time of order.

3.  How do I get the right sizes of warm-up shirts?

Cotton warm-up shirts (T's and long sleeve) are adult sizes match the sizing of our try-out shirts.  Check your try-out shirt.  Long sleeve samples are available, on request.

The drifit shirts will be sized in the shoulders, upper body and sleeves to match the long-sleeve cotton shirts.  However they will be slightly contoured to have an 'hour glass' shape.

4. Can I put sponsor logos on our warm-up shirts?

Yes, you can put one or more sponsor logos on the back of your shirt, for the same cost.  Specify the names of the logos at the bottom of the order form, and email the sponsor logo files to dane@killerinstinct.ca.

5. Why are names only allowed on shirts for 16U and up?

Although many players might want their name on the shirt, its only important for our older players as in the 17U and 18U bracket college scouts want to be able to identify players as they watch warm-ups.  That is why the older teams may want them.

For our younger players we follow the same policy we enforce on our web site, which is not to be able to identify individual players by name.  This is for the protection of our players, especially the younger girls.  Unfortunately there has been an incident in the past of Durham elementary school players being harassed when a newspaper photo included names of players.

It is our policy on the web to not be able to identify a player in real life using information we provide on our site.  We try and enforce this for all but our oldest players (e.g. alumni).  We are following similar policy for our shirts for younger players, and again, we are doing this for the safety of our players.

6. Can parents buy warm-up shirts?

The Club policy is that uniforms and clothing provided for our teams is for players and coaches only.  After all, our athletes have worked hard to make our teams and we want them to feel special.  Track suits and warm-up shirts are not available for parents.

However if you are looking for clothing there is a wide selection of fanwear available.

7.  How are our shirts delivered?

As shirts become available we will post a notice on our home page and provide a location for pick-up by teams.

Fanwear

1.  How do I order items?

Change in procedure - To simplify the order process and eliminate some of the errors that have occurred when we have had a large number of small orders, we ask that you assemble on order for your team.  You can use as many order forms as you wish, but please submit them as a single order.

The order form lists the available items, designs, colours and sizes.  Fill in the form mail it along with one or more cheques, according to the instructions on the form.   Please pay attention to deadlines.

2.  Are there deadlines for ordering?

We currently plan to have three order periods, though this may change based on demand.

  • Order #1 - Orders due by Nov 30th, and items delivered by Dec 15th
  • Order #2 - Orders due by Jan 31st, items delivered by Feb 21st
  • Order #3 - Just prior to Provincials or Nationals
3.  How do I order the right size for Fanwear items?

Shirts (T's and long sleeve), hoodies and sweatshirts are adult sizing and will fit the same as our try-out shirts.  !00% cotton items.

For the women's microfleece jacket and pants - we will be getting samples for you to try and/or will provide measurements.

100% cotton items (hoodies, sweatshirts and pants) are pre-sized slightly larger, to allow for shrinkage.

Note: All of the items are custom-made at time of screening and embroidery.  These are not mass-produced items.  For those hard-to-fit players you can request a specific inseam length on the pants, for example.

4.  How are items delivered?

Same as warm-ups, as items are delivered we will post a notice and provide a location for pick-up.

5.  Will we be offering more items?

It depends on demand.  We would like to provide different items, new colour schemes and possibly new designs, but it depends on how popular our clothing is.

Are you looking for another type of item?  Send an email to fanwear@durhamattack.org
