13U White Has Great Season Opener! Quick Links Story by Monica Marlatt :all articles :photo gallery The girls were eager to take part in their first Volleyball tournament, in Peterborough, Saturday November 17th. First, we took on Durham Attack Black. OK, we had some hiccups with the line-ups.  It was hard to shake off the confusion but we managed to carry on. In the end the Black team won 25-10, 25-10. The next two matches saw us playing two more strong teams.  DRVC Blue won 25-06, 25-09.  Storm Twister won 25-10, 25-15. Calling “out” and “short” could be heard in the stands. At the net a couple of tipping battles earned us points.  We may have not won any games in this pool but the girls pulled together and showed they could work as team. In between matches the girls feasted on fresh fruit and veggies, self made sandwiches and nachos and salsa.  MMM.  It was good.  Refueling energized the girls for the next set of games.  The re-pool had teams grouped more with their equal.  Howrah…What fun!  The coaches decided to forgo “the switching” and have us play our rotation position.  What a difference!  We had rallies that lasted longer than the playing of “O Canada.”  Serves were dynamite.  Dana, Nareesa and Catherine had to be rotated out because they had 5 serves in a row.  The girls worked in unison as they set each other up, dug hard and hassled at stray balls.
