National Champs 15U Black     After a tough pool day on Friday and an early loss that came back to haunt our 14U Red girls in the Power Pool seedings, the girls came out strong and went 12 - 0 on Saturday and Sunday to take home a Nationals East Gold for Tier 3 in Moncton.  Way to go girls!  What a great ending to a fantastic year. 15u Red had a great showing in the face of adversity (with only 7 able-bodied players) losing the Tier 2 semi-finals to the eventual winner.   more...       Three Attack Alumni Key in McMaster OUA Championship May 5 Three past Durham Attack members were key starters for McMaster marauders Womens Volleyball team that were recently crowned OUA champions: Sarah Masterton, Breigh Cameron and Kaila Janssen.  more... Attack 17's are National Champions May 4 17U Black went a perfect 18-0 at the 2008 17U Open in Ottawa to win their sixth straight Canadian Open and claim a National Championship for the fourth straight year.      Sick rally in the finals...     Though placed in tough pools all the way through the girls didn't drop a single set.          Faced with 4 set points in the second game of the finals, Attack fought off the challenge from Manitoba Storm and closed out the set and match 30-28 to keep their perfect record.  photos... Attack Teams Top 5 at Nationals May 4 Our 18U girls finished 5th at Nationals this weekend, losing a tough tie-breaker to the silver medalists Canuck Pulse.   17U boys also finished just out of the medals, losing a 15-12 tie-breaker in the Bronze medal match.  Lauren Joy Brubacher Apr 26 Another post-provincials baby!  Your timing is impeccable guys.  Andrew Brubacher, coach of our 14U boys, who had a baby girl on Friday.  Congratulations Kate & Adam! Apr 22 Provincials must have been awfully exciting for 18U boys team.  The next day Kate Pelton went into labour and William Pelton was born that evening at 8:00 pm. Congratulations Kate & Adam! Feb 22 Congratulations to our Boys 15U Red who earned a Bronze medal this past weekend at the Bugarski Cup.  The boys are traveling to the Nittany 2 tournament Feb 23/24 to carry on the Durham Attack tradition down south.  In Vegas this past weekend a ref saw my "DA 92" shirt and during a break in the action had to tell me "your club's got it all goin' on - I ref'd the match where your boys won Silver at Penn State".  Go Attack boys! Boys Take Silver and Bronze at Penn State Feb 11 News flash... our 17U boys played AMAZING the final day at Penn State to take the Silver medal!  And our 18U boys won the Bronze medal.         Of the final four teams, three were Canadian. Girls 16U Black won the Silver medal (more...) and 15U Black won the Bronze. more...     Girls 15U Black won the Tier 1 Gold at the Challenge Cup, to retain their Ontario #1 ranking. more...     Congratulations to Erinn Bickle (6'3" MB) and Rachel Vukson (6'1" S) who have signed National Letters of Intent to play university volleyball, on a full-scholarship basis, at Division 1 schools in the United States.     Two 18U Attack Black Players Sign National Letter of Intent Feb 6 Bickle is headed to the University of Dayton and Vukson to the University of Tulsa in August.  Dayton was the Atlantic 10 Conference Champion, and Tulsa was the Conference USA Champion for the 2007 season.  Both schools made an appearance at the NCAA Tournament in December and are private institutions with high academic and athletic standards. Durham Attack by Numbers Dec 17 Now that our warm-up shirts are out there and being seen, our players and parents are being asked "What do the numbers mean?"  This was the intent of the design.  So what do they mean? 15 years in existence 17 Provincial Champions 16 National Champions 204 players this season And a total of 16,503 volunteer coaching hours in 2007-2008 Landis Doyle Is CCAA Athlete of the Month Dec 5 Alumni Landis Doyle was selected in November 2007 as the CCAA female athlete of the month, and in December as OCA Athlete of the Week.  "A second year Industrial Design student, Landis Doyle has lead the Humber College Hawks to the number one spot in the OCAA.  As the Hawks’ leading scorer, Landis has been a major factor in the team’s success. In addition to being finalists at the Ryerson and Sheridan Invitational tournaments, Doyle lead the Hawks to a gold medal on their home turf of the Humber Cup during which she was named Most Valuable Player."
