After a tough pool day on Friday and an early loss that came back to haunt
our 14U Red girls in the Power Pool seedings, the girls came out strong and
went 12 - 0 on Saturday and Sunday to take home a Nationals East Gold for
Tier 3 in Moncton. Way to go girls! What a great ending to a
fantastic year.
15u Red had a great showing in the face of adversity (with only 7
able-bodied players) losing the Tier 2 semi-finals to the eventual winner.

perfect 18-0 at the 2008 17U Open in Ottawa to win their sixth straight Canadian
Open and claim a National Championship for the fourth straight year.

Though placed in
tough pools all the way through the girls didn't drop a single set.
Faced with 4 set
points in the second game of the finals, Attack fought
off the challenge from Manitoba Storm and closed out the set and match
30-28 to keep their perfect record.

Congratulations to our Boys 15U Red who earned a Bronze medal this past
weekend at the Bugarski Cup. The boys are traveling to the Nittany 2
tournament Feb 23/24 to carry on the Durham Attack tradition down south.
In Vegas this past weekend a ref saw my "DA 92" shirt and during a break in
the action had to tell me "your club's got it all goin' on - I ref'd the
match where your boys won Silver at Penn State". Go Attack boys!

Bickle is
headed to the
University of Dayton and Vukson to the
University of Tulsa in August.
Dayton was the Atlantic 10 Conference Champion, and Tulsa was the
Conference USA Champion for the 2007 season. Both schools made an
appearance at the NCAA Tournament in December and are private
institutions with high academic and athletic standards.

Landis Doyle was selected in November 2007 as the CCAA female athlete of
the month, and in December as OCA Athlete of the Week. "A second year Industrial Design student, Landis Doyle has
lead the Humber College Hawks to the number one spot in the OCAA. As
the Hawks’ leading scorer, Landis has been a major factor in the team’s
success. In addition to being finalists at the Ryerson and Sheridan
Invitational tournaments, Doyle lead the Hawks to a gold medal on their
home turf of the Humber Cup during which she was named Most Valuable
Player."
