Summer Success & 2009 Tryouts Aug 31
We are set to go for 2009-2010!  Reflecting on the season just completed, our athletes and coaches excelled at every level, both provincially and nationally - indoor, on the beach, on Team Ontario, and in the college and university ranks.

Canada Summer Games Silver Aug 30
Congratulations to Jenn Cross and Ali Goc, who won a silver medal with the Ontario indoor volleyball team at Canada Summer Games.  Ontario went undefeated up until the gold medal match on Saturday.

Team Ontario Finished 2nd and 4th at NTCC July 27
Team O 18U, with Attack players Lauren Skelly and Rebecca Glancy, lost a tough gold medal re-match against a big BC team.  Despite Ontario jumping to convincing leads in sets 1 and 2, BC was able to close the gap and took the match 3-1.  Team O 18U photos..

Team O 17U, led by Attack coaches Evan Williams and Keith Wills, and players Emily Betteridge and Jazmine White, had a 2-0 lead over Alberta 17U, but Alberta fought their way back to win the next two sets and a close fifth set tie-breaker to win the Bronze medal 3-2. 

Faces of the Future June 26
Congratulations to our athletes who have been recognized as Durham's Faces of the Future.  As you flip through the pages online you'll find Jon Jealouse (PE Trudeau), Ben McNeely (Norman G Powers), Lucas Coleman (Brooklin Village), Katherine Gregory (Fallingbrook), Lauren Skelly (Sinclair Secondary), Nareesa Nathoo (Elizabeth B Phin), Julia Parrott (Rosebank Road) and Craig Dixon (Pine Ridge Secondary).
17U Boys Double Gold May 26
Congratulations to our 17U boys for finishing the season with back-to-back gold medals - winning Ontario Tier 2 Gold and National Tier 3 Gold.
Nationals West Silver Medals May 25
16U Black travelled to Calgary to compete in the 16U Western National Championships where they had their sights set on bettering their bronze medal finish from 2008.

The "new Durham Attack math "10+3 = 1" was the ammunition used and it proved to be successful in assisting the team to hit their target. more...

This past weekend in Waterloo, our 18U girls posted a perfect 20-0 record to win the Ontario Provincial Championship for their fifth consecutive year. In that five year span the team has only lost a single age group match in Ontario. photos...

U17 girls tested the competition south of the border this past weekend at the Big South National Qualifier in Atlanta, one of the largest youth volleyball events in North America with 840 girls teams and 115 courts. more..

15U Red Diggin' For The Cure Apr 5
Our 15U girls participated in the Third Annual Diggin' for the cure Breast Cancer Fundraiser, and it was a lot of fun and a great tune-up prior to provincials. more...
Tune-Up in Ohio Mar 30
16U Black traveled to Ohio this weekend to play in the 16N Ohio Region Volleyball Tournament as a prelude to the upcoming Ontario Provincials. Parents and players alike all agreed it was worth the drive to Ohio.

The calibre of ball was much higher, more intense and much more challenging than we have seen here in Ontario. The teams were bigger, quicker, harder hitting with more powerful serves, which made for some incredible games of volleyball for the girls to play and the parents to watch. more...
 

Girls 14U Black Wins Bronze in Ottawa Mar 30

During the late afternoon of March 27th 14U Black headed down the 401 for the Open Championship East in Ottawa. This would be our first tournament in about a month so everyone was anxious to see how such a long break would affect play. more...
 

Big Black Wins Beast of the East Mar 29

Congratulation to 18U Black and Brandon Storm 17U for playing some great volleyball and winning their divisions at the Beast of the East Invitational. And to our 17U girls for finishing top four, losing in semis to the eventual winners from Brandon.

13U White Reaches New Heights at Bugarski Cup Mar 23 The tournament was a huge success. Congratulations to our sister teams DA Black and DA Red for their support and for winning Gold and Bronze respectively! While White did not come away with a medal, the girls can be extremely proud of their calibre of play. As they say, ‘it’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game’. And play the game they did…an awesome display of growing strength and skill, teamwork, a ‘never quit’ attitude and a commitment to keep getting better! more...

There was a time when Colonel John Hannibal would lead his A – Team to a well planned victory and after he lit his cigar he would say “I love it when a plan comes together.”  Rob didn’t have a lit cigar in his hand but I'm sure that’s what he was thinking Saturday in Peterborough after his 14U Black girls capped off an almost flawless day with a GOLD medal, winning the 15U Bugarski Cup.  more...

Our 18U girls fought hard to win back-to-back tie-breakers in semis and finals, and win the 18U Open (Premier) for their sixth straight Gold medal in Ontario this season.  photos...

Both our boys and girls 16U Black teams took Bugarski Cup gold on the weekend.
16U Black played a great tournament to win the 16U Bugarski Cup premier division in St Catharines, and regain their Ontario #1 ranking. more...

14U Girls Travel to North Bay Jan 31 It was a cold snowy Friday and everyone made the trek to North Bay for our first road trip of the year.  We didn't win the tournament, but our record was respectable and everyone had a great time.  There were lots of laughs and a few lessons learned on the court, and everyone is looking forward to our next road trip.  more...
