What a finish to a great season for our girls U13 Black Team!
Everyone looked forward to our weekend because we finally got to stay
at a hotel on an away tournament. On Saturday nothing could go
wrong. The girls were on their game and playing their true 13U
style, with wins over South County Black 25-16, 25-22. Then
Milton Storm 21-25, 25-18 and 15-9. Finishing off playing
Maverick Rattlers 25-23 and 25-18. Ending the day, not only with a
Pool Play win, but also a celebration of Erin Kadosa's 13th Birthday,
who also played out the winning serve!
On Sunday we won our first game against Northern Chill 25-21 and
25-11. In our Semi-Final game against Select Blue, although we
lost our first game 13-25, we came back with our 'never give up'
attitude and won 25-15. Unfortunately we ended the 3rd game with
a loss of 15-8.
Facing Milton Storm in the Final for Bronze we lost both games 11-25
and 21-25 to finish in 4th place.
During medal ceremonies, the announcer commented to everyone that,
although our team was a 13U team from Durham Attack playing in a David
and Goliath world, our club had a very impressive weekend.
Emily Gilbert was the recipient of the Award of Excellence.

Thank-you to Jean and Linda for all your had work this season.
Without a doubt, it certainly paid off. We all had a fun,
memorable and successful season.
Finally, the team and parents would like to thank Marcel Vandenheuvel,
our amazing Parent Rep, for keeping things so perfectly organized all
year.
