Red Girls Impress at U.S. East Coast Championships

The U16 Red team participated in the East Coast Championships
at Penn
State University this past weekend and performed tremendously!
The ladies played their best volleyball when it counted most and opened a lot of American eyes with their quality of the play.
Many U.S. parents and fans commented on the huge heart and professionalism our
ladies showed throughout the tournament. 16U Red finished with a 8-2
record and in a tie for 15th Place. Well
ahead of 81 other 16U teams in the tournament!!!

Durham Attack girls
won three National Championships today in Moncton, with our 14U, 15U and 16U
girls all winning the Canadian Eastern Open. As well
15U Attack Red won the Tier 2 Gold medal, and 14U Attack Red won the Tier 2
Silver medal. Boys 14U Elites finished in 5th place, and girls 13U Black
finished 5th in Tier 3. View our

our 18U girls team who finished 4th of 72 teams at the 18U Nationals in
Abbotsford, top team from the east! But for a very close 25-22, 25-23 loss
to the new national champion Manitoba Bisons in the semis, our girls would have
been contending for the Gold. Toughest match the Bisons had all
tournament. |

and capped it off with a win over cross-town rivals DRVC.
12U White finished 7th in Zone B. The future bodes well with all of the talent we have in our younger teams!

the Durham Attack girls OVA medal collection for 2006 - an OVA Tier 1 Provincial
medal at every age level - with Provincial Champions in the 12U, 15U, 16U, 18U and
20U age groups, Silver in 14U and Bronze in 17U. What an unbelievable
season for our girls!

Attack's 18U
girls won their second 2006 Provincial title at the 20U Championships in
Toronto on the weekend. Attack beat Toronto Royals, consisting of 6
University of Toronto Varsity players, in two games straight to win the
Gold medal. Four Attack players were selected as Tournament
All-Stars: Kaila Janssen and Annabelle Pellerin both for best outside
hitters, Hayley Todd for best middle hitter and Amber-Lee Campbell for
best setter.

members, I will be walking 60 km in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. In
memory of my mother-in-law, who passed away twelve years ago, we have
formed the team M.O.M. (Memories of Mom). Our goal is to raise $18,000

Our 16U boys won the
Silver at the 16U Tier 1 Provincial Championships this past weekend in
Scarborough, losing a close Gold medal match 15-13 in the tie breaker.

Earn Top Seeds Going Into Provincials

15U boys won their
third Gold medal of the season, and their fourth medal in as many tournaments,
at the Tier 1 Bugarski Cup in Oakville on April 1st.
16U Boys brought
home their second Gold medal of the season at the Ontario Open on March
25th to also bring
them to the top seed heading into Provincials. The final saw
Attack defeat a strong Pakmen VC team from Mississauga.

won the Silver medal at the 14U Tier 1 provincial championships in
Scarborough. more... 16U Black came from a 9th seeding to win the Bronze
at the 17U Tier 1 championships in St. Catharines!
On the
boys' side, 14U Elites finished 5th in Tier 1, and 14U Prospects
finished 5th in Tier 2.
In
Barrie girls 13U Black came from a 9th place seeding to place first in their
pool and finish with a 6-1 record, on their way to winning a 14U Tier
3 Bronze medal.

March 21st, at 6:28am, Ava Jolee Mattin, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz, was born to former Durham Attack coach Stephanie Mattin. Stephanie is a former U14 assistant coach and
enjoyed working with the younger ones at summer camps.

weekend of February 4-5 the Durham Attack U17 boys volleyball team
competed in the prestigious Penn State University Invitational
Tournament. Durham Attack was the only Canadian squad in a field
of 28 teams. Over the two days the boys played 10 matches, winning
nine and losing only one on their way to the gold medal.

earning OUAA and CIS honours for the first half of the season for
digs per game, Lakehead libero Lindsey Johnson started the
second half of the season with a phenomenal 59 digs in a double win
over Queens, to put her in the #1
position in Canada in both digs per game and total digs. 39
digs this past weekend against Windsor earned Lindsey RBC Lakehead
Athlete of the Week honours.
