The 13U Red team attended the Tier 1 Provincials this past weekend in Newmarket.
After two days of some very strong volleyball, our 13U season came to a close.
Saturday saw the 13U
Red girls up against some tough competition in pool play. They would start
the day off against Scarborough Titans, followed by matches against Barrie
Elites and Aurora Storm. At the crossover, their first match would be
against the Etobicoke Titans. After some close play, Etobicoke came out
the victor. Saturday was a tough day for the girls as they faced 3 teams
that would eventually finish in the top 4 for the weekend. Talk about a
tough draw.
Sunday saw the girls
come back to the court with their heads high and ready to play for all it was
worth. The first match saw 13U Red come out with a win against Storm
Monsoon in two straight and then another victory against Georgetown Impact.
After the tough day on Saturday, our girls really pulled themselves together and
played as a team with one goal in mind - to leave the Provincials on a good
note. And that they did, finishing 9th overall.
The season was one
of ups and downs for the 13U Red team. It was season that saw them win a
Silver and a Gold medal, make Tier 1, get dropped from Tier 1, fight their way
back, and finish strong at the Tier 1 Provincials. All-in-all it was a
great season for all of the girls.
But, the girls still
have one more kick at the can when they attend the 14U Tier 3 Provincials at the
end of April. I am positive they will play their best and come out with
another fine placing for the weekend.
Congratulations on a
great 13U season girls, and let’s do it all over again at the 14U’s!
