The U15 Black girl's
team will go into next months Tier 1 Provincial Championships ranked #1. The
team battled all day against much improved teams to prove that they deserved
that first place ranking.
The day started with close
matches against National Capitals and the Waterloo Tigers. The girls had
to go to three games against the strong U14 DRVC team, losing the first set then
coming back strong to win the next two sets. The semi finals was a tough
match against our old rivals the South County Bandits, coming from behind in the
first set to win 25-23 then clinching the second set 25-23 to set up the finals
against (who else) but the Scarborough Titans who were ranked first going into
this tournament. Durham played the games of their lives winning in
two straight sets 27-25 and 25-22 to finish the regular season ranked #1 in the
Province.
