The 13U Red team was in Ottawa on the weekend for the 14U Bugarski Cup.
Pool play saw the
girls playing against Kingston Pegasus and Peterborough Thunder. The girls
showed their true spirit here as they came back in both matches to force third
game tie breakers. They came out of pool play in 2nd place which put them
up against the Ganaraska Wolves in the first cross over match. Again,
after going down in a tight first game, the girls pulled together and forced a
three game tie breaker and came out with the victory. The second round put
Red up against the number 1 seed, the Ottawa Kangaroos, who went on to win after
two close matches.
This left Red with
their first chance at a medal in a 14U competition. Once again we would
play Pegasus. It was two close matches with Pegasus just edging out Red
with 18-25 and 24-26 victories to leave our 13U Red team with 4th Place on the
day.
