The 17U girls participated in the 18U Bugarski Cup.
The first two games saw the girls defeated in both matches against
Peel and Aurora. After a 2 hour break and some
refreshments the 17U girls came out strong in their 3rd pool play
match and defeated Toronto Royals in the 3rd game.
With a 3rd
place finish in their pool, Attack’s cross over was against the number
one seed in the tournament - Interclub. It was a very close
game, great passing and hitting with Attack victorious after 3 games.
Semi finals were against Aurora where the games were nail bitters and
this time Aurora came out the winner after 3 matches. Attack
went into the finals against Northumberland at 10:00 pm, played well
and won the first game, slipped up and lost the second game.
With great cheering support from the parents, the 17U girls hit the
floor for the third game and won quickly. The girls came home
with the Bronze medal, not enough to move up to Tier 2, but they have
one more shot!.
The girls
would certainly not have achieved the success they did without the
fantastic coaches who never let up all day and continue to bring the
best out in their team. Thanks Coaches!!!
