It was a better day
all around for the 15U Black girls team this past Saturday at the 16U Girls
Challenge Cup Tier 1 in Scarborough. The girls showed their focus and
determination as soon as they hit the court in the morning, by taking the first
match in 2 games against the Etobicoke Titans. Buoyed by their success,
they immediately met the 2nd ranked Waterloo Tigers White, and true to their
motto, they never gave up and took the team to 3 games, but the Tigers won the
tie-breaker 10-15.
In the crossover match,
the girls met one of their sister teams, Durham Attack Red. This was a
well-fought game, and again our girls took them to three games, but Durham
Attack Red came out ahead in the tie-breaker, 11-15.
Then it was back to meet
the Etobicoke Titans once again, and again our girls came out ahead, after
another 3 games.
The final match was
against Peel Selects, and our girls prevailed in 2 games, ending up in 9th
position overall. In spite of injuries and illness, all the girls fought
hard to make sure they maintained their Tier 1 status. We’re proud of our girls!
