They're back! The 15U boys make an eye opening return to the top tier.  After one tournament in the second tier the 15U Boys came back to the top tier with a bang.

They opened the tournament with a convincing 2 set victory over 3rd ranked Riverside.  The next match saw our boys up against 2nd ranked Forest City who proved to be too strong for us as they managed to squeak by in two close sets.  The final round robin match against T. West was a close one with the Durham squad showing some fight and eventually going down to defeat in the third set 13 – 15.

The old adage ‘every point counts’ came true as we came out of a three way tie ranked 2nd in the pool, as opposed to 4th, based on the point percentage. The 'never give up attitude' of a strong group of athletes paid off.

The first match of the second round saw the Mississauga Storm go down to defeat in 2 quick sets putting the DA 15U boys into the final 4 in their first tier 1 competition since last November. The semi-final against eventual winners Crush, proved to be a good learning experience as our own errors caught up to us. The Bronze medal was within sight with a match against Riverside all that stood in the way.  Although set 1 was close with DA coming from behind to win 25 – 22 the strategy did not work in the 18 – 25 second set loss. The stage was set for the tie breaker, all other teams had gone home, it was 12 long hours since the first match of the day and not even the never say die attitude could get them through, losing 12 – 15.

Overall a 4th place finish was a good wake up call to let the opponents know that this team is for real and to let the DA 15U Boys know what they have to do to get to the final at Provincials.
