Durham Attack | Hawkins Cup Silver for 13U Black

The Durham Attack 13U Black ladies played in the Hawkins cup this weekend. The ladies had a very successful day passing, setting, blocking, hitting (ooh yah and Abbey getting hit in the head by Christine’s serve!!!) the ladies worked together getting 2nd in their pool playing…The Collingwood Cubs vs Durham Attack 10-25, 16-25 & 17-25 Interclub vs Durham Attack 25-17, 20-25 & 25-20.

The ladies went into the crossover rounds only to play the DRVC rebels. The ladies played hard coming out on top playing 3 matches (25-22, 13-25 & 15-10). After the game the ladies sat and waited to then play the Georgian Bay Vista team in the semi finals. The ladies had a rough start/ gaining then loosing their lead then gaining it again, but by the end of the game the ladies worked hard and pulled it off winning (25-21 & 25-13).

The ladies went into the gold medal round playing Interclub once again. The ladies worked extremely hard but to their disadvantage Interclub had two very tall and powerful middles and powers (#7 and #16 everyone knows who I mean) the ladies played their hardest but came up short loosing 25-11 & 27-25 . In the end the ladies came out taking home the silver which is still amazing considering we are a 13U team. Way to go ladies. We (the team) would like to give a big thanks to our amazing coaches for helping us so much and for helping bring out of us the best we can be! We would also like to thank our fans (our parents) for always being there for us, and sometimes cheering for us. We all hope that the rest of our tournaments will be as successful as this one!
